So you want answers do you, Lindsay?
Many thanks to http://davidlindsaywatch.blogspot.com for leading the way on this one. Lindsay has been emailing away, copied here and to various of his allies, demanding to know certain things of Hilary Armstrong and Neil Fleming, including in relation to certain posts here. Roman script below is Lindsay's own words, italics are the answers which we confidently assert that Hilary and Neil would give (as they most certainly should):
In relation to the post What a thing it must be to have power:
Do you believe that I have had the DDC webforum closed down, and that for the reasons stated?
We don’t just believe it, we know it.
Do you believe that I am "practically a member of Labour high command" on DDC, and that the Derwentside Independents are a "non-Opposition" of which I am also "practically a member"?
We don’t just believe it, we know it.
Do you regard that "Labour high command" (including me, apparently) as "statists and syndicalists for their own nationalist and theoconservative reasons", and that "non-Opposition" (including me, apparently) as "nationalists and theoconservatives for their own statist and syndicalist reasons"?
Yes. These are simple matters of fact.
If you are not statists, syndicalists, nationalists or theoconservatives, then what, exactly, are you, and why?
Subscribers to the Euston Manifesto (http://www.eustonmanifesto.org) and the Henry Jackson Society (http://www.henryjacksonsociety.org.uk), and proud of it.
Do you consider that I have "more clout than a dozen or more elected Labour Councillors put together"?
Most unfortunately, we don’t just think it, we know it.
In relation to the post Where This Blog Stands:
Do my views as set out, in particular, on http://davidaslindsay.blogspot.com mark me out as "a reactionary Catholic and a Little Briton masquerading as a Socialist"?
Yes.
Am I "much, much more dangerous than [George] Galloway"?
Yes.
Is there a "right-wing Labour machine" which maintains a "one-party fiefdom of County Durham"?
F**k, yes! Everyone knows that!
Can a politician of the Left be pro-life, and if not, why not?
A woman’s right to choose abortion (up to and including partial birth abortion) is a non-negotiable Socialist principle, as is everyone’s right to choose when and how to die. No one who disputes either of these is in any sense on the Left.
Can a politician of the Left uphold the principle that marriage can only be between one man and one woman, and if not, why not?
The right of same-sex couples to marry is a non-negotiable Socialist principle. No one who disputes it is in any sense on the Left.
Can a politician of the Left oppose state lying in the form of the issuing of new birth certificates to transsexuals, and if not, why not?
The right of transsexuals to new birth certificates giving their true gender is a non-negotiable Socialist principle. No one who disputes it is in any sense on the Left.
Can a politician of the Left wish to raise the age of consent to 18, and if not, why not?
The right to engage in post-pubescent consensual sex is a non-negotiable Socialist principle. No one who disputes it is in any sense on the Left.
Can a politician of the Left insist on fact rather than prejudice or fabrication with regard to Pope Pius XII and the Holocaust, the Inquisition, condoms and AIDS in Africa, and the life and legacy of Alfred C Kinsey, and if not, why not?
No one who holds Lindsay views on any of these matters is in any sense on the Left.
Can a politician of the Left subscribe to Catholic Social Teaching and Distributism, and if not, why not?
No. There is nothing further needing to be said about this.
Can a politician of the Left refer to "John Paul the Great", and if not, why not?
No. There is nothing further needing to be said about this.
Do my views mark me out as "anti-Europe and anti-American"?
Yes.
Are Britain and the other Commonwealth countries that retain the monarchy lacking in "self-respect"?
Yes.
Are the Catholic Unionist traditions in Scotland and Ireland "dangerous", so that they must be kept "voiceless"?
Yes.
What do you think of Saint Helena and other territories whose people choose to remain British to this day, and does proudly having such a background preclude one from being a politician of the Left?
Yes, it does. That says it all.
What do you think of Mail and Telegraph readers?
The less said, the better.
Are you "afraid, very afraid"?
No. [This is where we part company with Hilary and Neil: they sure as hell should be “afraid, very afraid”.]
Or have we missed something, Hilary and Neil?
